CD ReviewsLord, this band is good. 02/23/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'm telling you right now - if you have yet to discover The Start, you are truly missing one of the best bands to break in the last 5 years. A true return to new wave is happening, and The Start find themselves spearheading the movement, wheter the intention was to do so or not. As good as their full length release, "Shakedown" may have been (and it was fantastic, make no mistake), this EP is even better. The not-as-slick production works to it's advantage, lending the raw, synth-punctuated songs even more emotional wallop. I can't help but go back to the first time I heard Missing Persons -- I was riveted. The Start perfectly capture that same mood, and they've made the old new wave sound their own, updating it and making it relevant like no band has done since the halcion days of synth-rock. I'm tellin' you, every song on this EP had me shaking my head in utter amazement. To be able to make new wave feel truly new all over again is solely a tribute to this band's talent, desire and immediacy. Dip into the "new" new wave with The Start. This EP is an excellent first step for the uninitiated." Support theSTART! 01/06/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Why is this Cd $10 here?!? Everyone go to nitrorecords.com and get it for $5 and free shipping!" Fantastic Music and vocals Norbert Evans | Nine Mile Falls, WA United States | 09/17/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought the "Shakedown" CD first and then bought this CD. At first it felt different but after having listened to it about a gazillion times I absolutely love this CD even more then Shakedown. They are both excellent and I would recommend them to anyone who even only remotely likes rock music. Amiee Echo's voice is fantastic as well as the music. I was born is 1956 and have an older sister that was born in 1948. In the early 1960's when the Beatles, Stones were just starting out my older sister was a teenager and listed to a lot of music so I grew up listening to most of the music from the late 1950's and all the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and this decade up to the present time and have a very large music collection of my own. This group "theSTART" is a very precious group in this collection. I absolutely love Aimee's style of singing and voice and hope I can locate the "Circles" CD which does not appear to be available anywhere. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any CD by this band having never heard any of the songs knowing I would like it. As Tony the Tiger would say "They're Great""
