CD Reviews

You get one CD by The Stone Coyotes and you go back for more

"When I first heard The Stone Coyotes on XM radio I finally felt satisfied to be paying to have music beamed to my car from space - because it is the only place left that plays undiscovered music that is this good. Thank You XM!Within a day of listening to Rise From The Ashes (now a day in this case means 4 hours in the car and 7 listens to the disc) I was back here to Amazon to buy the rest of the Coyote catalog. Only problem now is that I need a disc changer in my car to keep them all in rotation!Seriously though, this is the way songwriting ought to be - with stories being told of people who we may or may never meet - not the new wave of biographical songs, but imaginative characters in the vein of Johnny Cash type Americana but with a far more Rock sound. If nothing else to hear Barbara Keith sing "we sing the songs of old" on the second track "While Unseen Angels Hover" makes this CD a keeper to kill for - but there are tons of other moments on this disc that will have you going back for more. Now if only they would tour through Alabama - although it seems they go to Texas on occasion and it might just be worth the trip."
I don't know much but....

"I don't know much about fancy writings but I do know that this CD kicks ass. What a voice girl, what a voice!"
In the defense of rock.

"I heard this band for the first time on XM radio. I wish XM had been around 5 years ago when the first Stone Coyotes album came out because then I wouldn't have needed to wait five years to find this band.Better late than never. For all you rockers out there. This is the band. This is the band that ought fill the void of great American rock band that Aerosmith had, Guns n' Roses inherited and nobody has grabbed since."
