The Stranglers are Back!!!

"The Stranglers, against all odds, have returned with a kicking single: "Big Thing Coming" and a fantastic new album called "Norfolk Coast." On Big Thing Coming, the band bust out of the gate with Baz Warne's distinctive T.Rexish riffs making a formal introduction before the music explodes in a lysergic frenzy of swirling keyboards, insistent drumming and the fat, recharged sound of J.J. Burnel's growling bass. The vocalist Paul Roberts is adequate for the job. The sound harkens back to the Stranglers' glory days circa 1977-1982 but is in no way retro. The production is fantastic and crisp...a modern sheen for a band that has now been playing for 30 years (their first album came out in 1977). The other two songs are enjoyable too and the video is amazing."
It's a BIG change! And its goooood!

"Every good stranglers fan remembers when Hugh quit and Paul took over. The "heaven and hell" came out and even though I liked the album at that time it is the weakest of StranglersMK so far, with the single to the new album, well I can't wait till Amazon.UK sends me my order. The first two songs (Big Change and I don't agree) sound so fresh but go somewhat back to the roots again. The keyboard will remind you a lot of the older Rattus days, which is what we were waiting for, right? If these guys would just get their butt up and tour in the US, life would be close to perfect right?"
