Synopsis
Product Description The Time Jumpers are Nashville's best kept musical secret, but the word is spreading about what many of Nashville's recording artists, musicians, and industry executives have already discovered on Monday nights at The Station Inn. About eight years ago, a few of Nashville's studio musicians and vocalists made a deliberate decision to get together on stage one night a week just to have some fun playing their music of choice, and calling it their therapy session. The venue chosen was the world famous Station Inn and before long the band grew and so did their audiences. The group now consists of 11 of the most talented pickers and singers you'll ever have the pleasure to hear. The Time Jumpers have reinvented Western Swing - bringing it into the 21st century with more power, energy, and downright fun than you've ever seen and heard. Armed with their infectious arrangements, amazing musicianship, and engaging personalities, The Time Jumpers have been Nashville's best kept musical secret....but the word is out!! CD ReviewsWestern Swing is just happy music! Maryann | Chicago IL | 01/12/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "These folks have loads of talent and are incredibly fun to listen to. If you liked Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, I think you will also enjoy this album. You can also check them out on the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour - Podcast show 447" It ain't over till the last fiddle plays Foxone | Okinawa | 03/11/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Absolutely amazing music and the folks who play it are true virtuosos. I'm pretty much a purist, but in most cases, the versions on this CD are better than the originals. If you like Western Swing or Swing or Western....don't even hesitate, 'cause you're going to love this music." Outstanding! R. Sells | Deep South, USA | 02/24/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "An absolute delight! If you're even remotely a fan of "Texas Swing" you'll really enjoy this double-CD set! I'm usually NOT a fan of live recordings, but the content in this album is so good - and the recording itself so smooth and slick - that I had no trouble setting my qualms aside and really enjoying the tunes.
A couple of selections weren't exactly my "cup of tea," but 90% of the songs are dynamite, including the highlight, "Sweet Memories." The musicians are highly-skilled and super-slick, and the vocals are first-rate. Well worth a listen, or two, or ten!" |
