Synopsis
Album Description With their stunning third album, In The Dark, The Whigs have gone widescreen. Bursting with energy, emotion, and unpredictable experimentation, the Athens, GA-based trio tear open the artistic envelope, bringing both nuance and eclectic strength to songs like 'Hundred/Million' and the raucous first single, 'Kill Me Carolyne'. In The Dark is both atmospheric and ambitious, without losing the pedal-to-the-metal power that earned them universal praise as one of America's finest young Rock 'n' Roll bands. Both an accessible album and one that captures the band's on-stage passion (something that has become synonymous with the band's live show), In The Dark reveals another layer in the band's songwriting and highlights what fans and critics have fallen in love with. CD ReviewsOutstanding A. T Smith | Seattle, WA | 05/22/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "From top to bottom this album is strong. The bands these guys open for have not put material out that can compare to the majesty that "In the Dark" has on it. Hundred/Million opens with thumping bass drums, while the title track repeats an unbelievably catchy chant of the chorus. There's nothing to hate all to love, this IS THE TOP ALBUM THUS FAR IN 2010 for alternative rock. From how things have been in the music industry it may as well stay there by year-end. I'm not going to list out how I rate each one of these songs and what they mean to me, but it is clear each song was crafted with care and meaning - the end result is better experienced then read by another."
