Synopsis

Album Description
2008 release, a collection of nine improvised pieces by Theo Travis [alto flute, soprano sax] and Robert Fripp [guitar, soundscapes]. It was recorded at DGM Soundworld by David Singleton, with reediting/mixing and mastering courtesy of Steven Wilson [Porcupine Tree]. The collaboration has yielded a very beautiful sequence of recordings that neatly avoid many of the clich?s routinely associated with terms such as 'ambient' and 'improvised', while encompassing the core elements of both forms of music. Panegyric.

CD Reviews

Flute, Sax and Frippitronics really go well together!
Alan Riva | Valley Village CA, USA | 10/30/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD is a really nice blend of Robert Fripp's Frippitronics and Theo Travis on Sax and Flute.

Very mellow, ambient music. These two musicians really work well together. Anyway who is a fan of Robert Fripp's should really enjoy this CD! Highly recommended!"
Great Fripp as always!

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Very good collaboration of Robert Fripp with the saxophonist and flutist Theo Travis. Rare atmosphere and a magnific use of the guitar sound. Minimalist structures and hypnotic structures as in the Fripp's style. Sometimes it recalls us the far west music. The use of Fernandes guitar sustainer by Fripp indicates the necessity to give long shadowy notes which impress a lot the listener. I suggest to listen to it many times to appreciate it at the best."
