Album DescriptionThe forefathers of Brechtian Punk Cabaret, THE TIGER LILLIES, were founded in 1989 and 19 years later their sound remains one of the most unique and original things one could come across. Having won an Olivier Award for the musical Shockheaded Peter and a Grammy nomination for the album The Gorey End THE TIGER LILLIES never seize to surprise, shock and entertain their audience with their unimitably deviant musical style. The Seven Deadly Sins is the bands 21st album, charting mans fall from Heaven to Hell. A shockingly grotesque and embarassingly amusing parade of all of mans sins and vices that have, throught the centuries, led him straight into Hells dark pit. Inspired by HIERONYMOUS BOSCHs triptych of The Last Judgment, and true to THE TIGER LILLIES anarchic, in-yer-face spirit, the Seven Deadly Sins could probably run for one of the most provocative and sarcastic albums in the THE TIGER LILLIES canon. The albums release coincided with the worldwide premiere of the Seven Deadly Sins show, in Londons New Players Theatre. After the enthusiastic reception the show will be travelling next to Edinburgh for a 4 week run at the Fringe Festival. THE TIGER LILLIES mosaic of Berlin cabaret, gypsy music and anarhcic opera is undoubtedly unique, divinely decadent and unapologetically offensive. Devilish but Delicious the Seven Deadly Sins is the kind of music you would hear if you were on a fairground carousel in Satans back garden.
