Synopsis

Album Description
THE TIMELESS MADONA features a sampling of the many expressions of supplication and adoration written by Franz Liszt in honor of the Blessed Mother, Mary. Included are little known Ave Marias expressed through the mediums of solo piano and various combinations of vocal ensembles: solo, a capella and mixed choir with organ and harp. CD Reviews

A Grand Teamwork Achievement
Frank Cedrone | Professor Emeritus, Music Department, University o | 05/25/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Solo Pianist Mary Kay Kapustka performs with the kind of piano technique that is so necessary to playing Liszt's music so convincingly. The Mixed Choir produces pure vocal sounds, with their conductor, Richard Robertson, controlling dynamics and phrasing in a magnificent tribute to Lizst, the Abbe. The organ sounds so soulful under the deft manipilations of soloist, Francis Slechta. Perfection is the only word to describe the organ episodes. The CD also features baritone John Reschl, harpist Don Hilsberg, and conductor Robertson at the organ, A fascinating CD amounting to another glowing tribute to the "unknown" Liszt."
