AWESOME VOCAL MASTERPIECE~BRAVO TIMI

"Timi Yuro possessed the most unusual brilliant voice in popular music history being a full and robust voice with rich tones and beautiful vocal shadings plus deeply passionate emotion that always cut to the heart and soul of a song yet Timi Yuro sadly passed away this year largely forgotten except by connoisseurs of great singers. In 1962 the memorable "What's A Matter Baby" was a sizable hit but this soulful anthem should have gone to #1 as this is one of the greatest performances from the great musical sixties. This diverse release is full of stand-outs that are beautifully remastered great performances from a legendary singer who was adored by greats such as Elvis and Willie Nelson making her a true singers-singer of the highest level. Bonus cuts include the moving and definitive "The Love Of A Boy" and the haunting and soulful "Insult To Injury" which is totally unique and could have only been recorded by Timi. Hopefully the next release from this incredibly gifted singer will be Timi Yuro's greatest recording achievement "Something Bad On My Mind" which has strangely gone unreleased on compact disc along with Timi's great Mercury Records output which includes numerous outstanding singles plus the lost Quincy Jones produced masterpiece "The Amazing Timi Yuro" (update: The Amazing Timi Yuro is now available on CD...a definite Desert Island Classic!!!) which is brilliantly arranged by the legendary Bobby Scott and places Miss Yuro clearly in the same realm of greatness as Dinah Washington!!! "Something Bad On My Mind" contains incomparable performances such as the definitive version of "Hey Girl (Hey Boy)" (yes it is the one written by Carole King!) and a stellar performance of "I Can't Believe I'm Losing You" which Timi turns inside out giving one of the most stunning performances of her incredibly brilliant career!! A masterful version of "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" is magnificent and the film theme song "Interlude" is hypnotic and and deeply moving. When the "Something Bad On My Mind" album is mixed properly with Timi's voice a little more out front (I have done this by recording LP to tape with the vocal boosted out front and the results are amazing!) than the original release was mixed the vocal magnificence will blow away those who thought that they had already heard the best from this great singing legend!!! For those new to this great singers musical journey start with "The Lost Voice Of Soul", then "The Voice That Got Away" and finally this great collection until more comes along!!! We miss you Timi...thank you for the incredible great treasures that you left behind for us to savor and enjoy and we miss you..."

"Finally, a real Timi Yuro album, not another compilation. Luckily, RPM picked her best for its first release in a proposed series of her original album releases. This album is about as perfect as it can get. Timi's incredible voice is matched with great songs, and none are filler's. The original album is great from beginning to end (tracks 1-12), but the BONUS tracks are not as good, but at least RPM gave us bonus tracks. This is an album I listen to over, and over, and over (you get the idea). Here's hoping RPM fulfills its intentions to release her other albums on CD. Personally, I can't wait.

"What a powerful and unique voice from a little lady! The world has lost a great soulful artist who was grossly underrated. I hope that someday Timi will receive the recognition that she truly deserves. God bless you Timi Yuro for all the wonderful songs which you recorded!!"
