Gorgeous music

"Just had to put something here because the only (other) review here is so silly as to be kinda useless. These two albums are truly underrated things of utter beauty. Any fans of Donovan, Fairport Convention, Bert Jansch, Pentangle, Trees, Incredible String Band, etc etc would do very well to check these guys out. It is great to see them on CD, and the remastering isn't half bad for BGO, whose reissues I usually hate (to be honest :P )"
Tir Na Nog are Splendid

"The problem is this is a compilation that comprises two very different recordings. Tir Na Nog are splendid folk artists, but something happened between "A Tear And A Smile" and "Strong in The Sun." The former is lovely, though not as fetching as the original album, "Tir Na Nog," which is an outstanding record: simple, beautiful and rich. While I don't find the "Tear And A Smile" record off-putting (merely pale), I do find that "Strong In The Sun" seems strained; an uncomfortable departure from pure folk to folkish rock, and it never settled well with me. However, with so few recordings of this duo in existence, these are minor complaints. I would prefer an average Tir Na Nog album to almost any other Celtic/folk duo of this era."
