Synopsis
Album Description "Searching" is a collection of twelve incredible piano instrumental songs. Working on this project for the past year, Schroeder has produced clean sounds and textures, proving that his efforts were well worth the time invested. Opening the album is the inspiring "Rising" which sets the listener on a journey of enlightenment. A sure favorite is "An Irish Waltz" which creates images of dancing around a ballroom, swinging and swaying to the rhythm of the music. Demonstrating his ability to create many moods, "Wedding Song" captures the beauty of this special day, while "The Storm" pushes the tempo to a fierce, somewhat frenzied mode. Whether your preference is the melodic "Thinking of You", or the Jazz-Blues "Midnight Sessions", this album will appeal to everyone who loves good music. |
CD ReviewsGeorge Winston move over scooter d | Los Angeles, CA | 03/21/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Wow! I ordered this album on a whim, and am very happy that I did. The quality of the music is right up there with George Winston and Jim Brickman. However, there is a very unique style to this music. The songs range from melodic love-type songs, to just great piano music. I found the song "The Storm" to be very impressive with it's classical style and wonderful textures. My favorite has to be "Thinking of You." I picture myself walking on the beach at sunset, and thinking about how wonderful life and relationships can be. I also love the opening song "Rising", and find myself putting that on first thing in the morning to get my mind rolling and focused for the day ahead. And I can't leave out "Midnight Sessions - Charlie Brown Grown Up", which reminds me of an old jam session, similar to Miles, where the music keeps going and going, and you don't want it to stop. Definitely my pick for album of the year. This guy, Schroeder, is a very talented piano man." What a lovely way to spend a day! scooter d | 04/18/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "These original pieces are so melodic they promptly capture your attention and before long you find yourself humming along, swearing you were listening to a CD of old favorites. Yet the music is complex enough to intrigue you each time you hear it. Unlike mood music that takes you into a state of melancholy, listening to Todd Schroeder fills your soul with sunshine. What a lovely way to spend a day."
