"Tom Coster was Santana's keyboard player in early albums from the guitarist. T.C. then went solo and has released quite some albums, generally very "experimental jazz" and daring ones. The one offered here is actually the sum of his first two solo records, "T.C." and "Ivory expeditions". You can listen to and enjoy a Santana like guitar on "I give my heart to you", a very Norman connors like "magical moments", the poppy "one woman man", or two more psychodelic tracks ("You said", "The dragon"). The cd is in fact highly interesting and varied in its first part. The second part of the cd comes from T.C.'s second record, and is not as attractive. I also note that "Fantasy lady", a fantastic track that opened T.C., is missing here. That is unforgivable and makes the overall quality of the cd go down...Oh, and did you know that Santana's "Europa", that made him so famous, is actually a track written by Tom Coster ? His own version of this masterpiece can be found on a five star album called "from me to you". Hopefully, it will be re-released one day."
