CD ReviewsExciting new electric jazz CD 01/08/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Whereas so many jazz guitar albums drift into predictable formulas of be-bop rehash, I was overjoyed to discover a CD which brings together the urgency of John Coltrane with a bristling electric sound. Bob Moses is excellent and deep in his Elvin Jones bag which allows McCarthy to evoke horn-like textures and blistering rock tones. Any fan of the recent Miles Davis early 70's re-issues will love the spacey, broad canvas of Noesis. A thrilling listen. 5 stars." Do Not See Me Damn 09/09/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "As official czar of T-Bone bootlegs I am most happy with this recent collection of improvs. Tom has always been at his best when inspired by the talents of others, and the drum/guitar conversations are sublime. This is heads up his best work, leaving Gel and The Sweepers in the bin. I wasn't privy to his Boston work with Blue Man Group, but knew of his years with Robert Fripp's League of Crafty Guitarists, and would dare say he's done old Bob Schneider proud. Peanut butter and milk are nice."
