"Destiny of a Pilgrim", Mowrey's debut CD, is a foray onto the edge of his unbridled creativity and insight. Inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Destiny of a Pilgrim" combines a diverse troupe of musicians and uncommon instruments to achieve a gentle flow from one song to the next, coaxing the listener to take part of a wide range of emotions, from the sweet nostalgia of "At Rest" to the triumphant "Great Feast". Tom Mowrey's songs take his listeners on a visionary's journey. Fingerstyle guitar lends itself to creating a complex blend of sounds with a decidedly folkloric feel.
