"Tommy Keene, originally from Washington DC, has been turning out exquisitely crafted jangly guitar pop for almost twenty years now. I first heard him in the mid-eighties when a friend recommended his PLACES THAT ARE GONE EP. Always a sucker for a well-turned hook, I was as much impressed by his command of the genre as I was confused by the fact that he wasn't a superstar. Thankfully he's managed to continue recording despite the lack of sales. I've purchased each album and never been disappointed! This five-song EP was released in 1992 after a three-year absence following his epic BASED ON HAPPY TIMES (currently deleted). Every tune is great and representative of the rest of his catalog. It's a steal for the price.... just listen to the samples!(Total time for five songs: 20:32)"
