"This is on of two dates on Time the only dates led by TT (the other strangely seems like his bothers date called "Stan The Man"-not as good). This LP/CD of mostly original compositions is basically Tommy taking reigns of his boss band with his brother giving patented bluesy yet swinging sound, with Julian Priester on 'Bone,Roach and Horace Parlan on keys,This is such a groover that it would have fit nicely in Blue Note catalogue. It's just one of those albums that excites you from beginning to end (equal to may Roach dates and better than the few Priester Dates like "Keep Swinging" which wasn't a slouch).Expensive on Japan CD it's worth it and if you don't agree it's a killer you can easily flip it.But you want.it's too bad that either health issues or drugs kept Tommy from becoming nearly the star his brother was bu he survived into 90's where he was interviewed in movie "A History Of Blue Note Records".Too bad his sideman discography on Prestige or Blue Note is limited(dig him on Sonny Clark "Leapin' and Loppin'" with Charlie Rouse")Byrd,or Little he was better than many who got much more work. But this LP is a standout that I is just killer!
