"Ever since I saw the series, I knew I had to have the soundtrack. And when I got it, I didn't regret it. It's absolutely WONDERFUL! Lots and lots of BGMs that range from soft to intense to tear-jerkers. Track 9, Kagayaki, is the ending theme for Curriculum 11. The song (without reading translations, mind you!) just SCREAMS "sad". Chance is the semi-upbeat end theme for the rest of the series, and the bonus track, ~Get a dream!~, features Universe Form (Zero, Yamagi, Roose, Hiead, and Clay) singing it. *drool* Enough said, really. ^_^ I've always thought that music tells just as much a story as the series itself, so if you own any of the DVDs and you've felt like crying (or just have felt very emotional) in a space shot with no dialogue, get the soundtrack. The piano solos are soothing, and there are two: Kagayaki, and Soubou. The latter is the "next episode" music. Get it. ^_~"
Music is much better than the series

"The series Megami Kouhosei (aka The Candidate for Goddess or Pilot Candidate) is not the best anime series, but the music composed for it is outstanding. Even if you have never seen the series, I think you will enjoy the music. Some of it is uplifting such as the 1st track "Opening Theme: Towards Zion, the Planet of Hope" and 27th tracks "End Theme: Chance." Some of the music is haunting, but in a beautiful way such as the 28th track "Blue and Infinite (Piano Solo)". There is plenty of great music between the tracks I listed. Forgive me if my translations of the Japanese song titles are not 100% accurate (I don't speak Japanese). That isn't what's really important. The music is, and what music it is. As an import this is kind of pricey, but personally, I listen to this CD enough that the price is immaterial."
