The music in generally wonderful, Basie's swingin' orchestra with Bennett's photogenic voice. Wonderful jazz music..."

"Okay, here is what happened. In the late 1950s Tony Bennett recorded a pair of albums with Count Basie and His Orchestra. The contract gave one album to Bennett's Columbia label and the other to Basie's Roulette. Columbia released "In Person!" while Roulette first issued its album under the title "Strike Up the Band" has been re-released by various labels, one of which would be Garland, which gave the album the title "Chicago." So pay careful attention to the play list and make sure you do not already own this one under another name. As with all of the joint efforts between Bennett and Basie, most notably "Basie Swings, Bennett Sings," the results are pretty good whether the songs are big and brassy (e.g., "With Plenty of Money and You," "I Guess I'll Have to Change My Plans") or soft and tender (e.g., "Growing Pains"). Basie's orchestra certainly brought out the best in Bennett as a jazz vocalist. However, the problems remain in that this album is available by several names, it only has ten tracks even on this reissue CD, and changes are you already have the best tracks on the album, including the title song and my all time favorite Tony Bennett song, "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face." Caveat Emptor."
