Album DescriptionThese recording was overseen in 1961by Bert Kaempfert, who was then Head of A& at Polydor in Germany. He wanted to record Tony Sheridan, who was the most popular performer in Hamburg. The Beatles, who were also playing in the same clubs as Sheridan, were drafted in to back him. All the songs feature Tony Sheridan on lead vocal, with The Beatles backing him - known as 'The Beat Brothers' for these recordings. The album also features the first officially released Beatles composition, the instrumental 'Cry For A Shadow'. This was titled 'Beatle Bop', when it was originally released on Tony Sheridan's successful French E.P 'Mr. Twist'. Entertain Me. 2008.
