"Tony!Toni!Tone! were an exceptional R&B group. Their songs Lets Get Down, Feels Good and If I Had No Loot are completely party and dance worthy. On the flip side songs like Anniversary, Whatever You Want and Lay Your Head On My Pillow are so romantic and great to chill to. Over all this cd is a great greatest hits cd for a group that wont be forgotten. Tony!Toni!Tone! still can get down!"
One of the Last Great r&b Groups

"While Guy dominated the late 1980s with their brand of New Jack Swing, another great group, Toni Tony Tone, was making a splash on the r&b scene. Their debut single, the catchy "Little Walter," didn't set the charts on fire, but it would be the beginning of a string of hits that would lead up to "Feels Good," which cracked the pop market. This hits collection is an impressive survey of Tony Toni Tone's brief journey before they disbanded. "Let's Get Down," "Baby Doll," and "Born Not to Know" all surface here, giving memories of those late 1980s. The group disbanded and took on solo projects, but if you want a history of one of the best groups in the last 15 years, then give this disc a whirl."
Before their time and gone too soon...

"TTT is one of the most influential groups of the 80's R&B/New Jack/Soul era. As i mentioned i beleive them to be before their time...it's sad how some groups aren't appreciated until we don't have them anymore. In the mid to latter 80's "New Jack" was the King and a group u may have heard of..."Guy" was the leader of the pack but there was another group that may not have gotten the attention they deserved...Tony!Toni!Tone! was that group! They had it all...great vocals, great tracks/beats, and a lot personity on the records. Their version of "It Never Rains(In Southern California)" is one of my favorite songs of all time. I love how it makes me long for the beach, my flojos and a good Long Island Ice Tea...! I love that song!!! They first hit the scene with a mildly popualr semi-hit "Little Walter"...but we all knew that there was more to come from these guys. "Let's Get Down"( with DJ Quick) still gets played every weekend and "Feels Good" is the kind of song that you can't sit down to with it's Killer hard beat and piano rhythum THIS IS A CUT!!! These guys were also big time pioneers of the smooth, quiet strom ballad with grinders like " What Ever You Want" and a song that's sadly not included here " Just Me and You" ( featured in the movie "Boyz In The Hood"). "Anniversary" is a cut that i will always play at Anniversary Parties and Weddings..."If i had not Loot" and "The Blues" got play in the club back in the day. These guys were before Jodeci and Joe, Tyrese, Robin Thicke, JT and the like of Remy Shand and Kem...i have to believe that TTT had a lot of influence on all the smooth brothers of today. Pioneers...before there time...If you don't have a TTT CD in your collection...do yourself a favor and open up to some great music."
The bomb!

"Raphael (Saadiq) Wiggins, Dwayne Wiggins, and Timothy Christian, making up the classic group Tony! Toni! Tone! comes with their greatest hits album Hits, after the group broke up shortly after their 1996 album House of Music. Most of the hits on here were played heavily on the radio back in the late 80's and early 90's, and are easily recognizable. I remember many of the songs getting major airplay back in the day as well.
Most of their hits were high quality such as "Whatever You Want", "It's Our Anniversary", and their biggest classic "It Never Rains In Southern California". Their new jack swing style also brought back memories like "Feels Good", "My Ex-Girlfriend" and "Little Walter". My favorites on here are the ones with guest appearances like DJ Quik on the classic "Let's Get Down" and AMG on "Boys And Girls" (you can tell Quik produced that track).
This trio has made numerous hit singles that still get play on the radio today. If you're not familiar with this group, you should at least remember their singles. If you were around when they will new, it should bring back a lot of memories. I recommend this album, and then you should pick up their group albums. And if you have some extra cash laying around, also pick up Raphael Saadiq's and Dwayne Wiggins solo albums too. Peace.
