"Imagine the wisest teenager in 1994 (Tony Vincent) teaming up with critically acclaimed former Susan Ashton counterpart, Wayne Kirkpatrick, and you've got a songwriting duo that'll blow the pants off any other CCM pop singer. These lyrics talk about everything important to young people and adults. And the music is fun, gripping, sometimes heartwrenching, and incredibly beautiful all at the same time.
Must Be The Season--Computerized bass leads lead the song in it's
opening, followed by digital drums, pulsing
keyboards and soaring guitars. The words
speak of the often confusing irregularity of
God's loving behavior.
Out Of My Hands--The disc's debut single. Piano with digital
drums and ethreal keyboards. The words speak
in frustration about the futility of human
ability.
Holiday--Soaring vocals. This guy can go high! Typical slow pop
song sound that talks about the joy in meeting God the
way He was supposed to be met.
Whole New Spin--Super fun song! The sound is indescribable. So
complicated, but that's why it's cool! It talks
about how, just when you start getting bored with
God, he spices life up and gives it a "whole new
spin" that can be "in your face".
Far Cry--Ethreal slow song. It talks about the impossibility of
replacing love. Basically, anytying is a "Far Cry" from
love.
High--So cool! Really fast 6/8 signature song. More soaring
falsetto vocals talking about hypocricy, denial, and
responsible maturity.
Simple Things--Another radio hit. Inspiring pop song. It's a
bittersweet message about being thankful for
basic emotional provisions from God.
Be A Man--Grippin pop chord progressions. Indescribable sound.
This song isn't slow, but it's emotional. It tells the
story of a young boy trying to grow up while remaining
cold-hearted as a result of indifferent emotional
abuse from his father. This could be either Vincent's
or Kirkpatrick's biography, or perhaps the story was
inspired by the life of the song's cowriter, Carolyn
Arends.
Shake The Money Tree--An unpredictable song. Really pay attention
to this one. It talks about the
pointlessness of celebrity, wealth, and
selfishness. It also points out the
futility of vanity, or trying to raise
one's sex appeal.
Beyond All Words--That's what this song is. It's so moving. The
heartwrenching vocal progressions will have
you reeling. It talks about reaching the heart
of God for the first time and being broken
from the experience.
You have to have this CD. Buy it!"
