"I wasn't familiar with tosca's 'suzuki' when I purchased this disc so I thought it was a release of new material. This is a slick disc with a clever concept: 14 different dub versions of the track 'honey' from the amazing disc 'suzuki' interpreted by different remixers and artists.What I like about this disc is the music. Each track flows seamlessly into the next one yet remains totally distinctive from each other. Every track maintains the deep, sexy and funky grooves tosca is deft at creating. My favorite is the Shelter Ave dub and its stuttering take on the vocals. Other noteworthy dubs are Funky Lowlifes, Biggabush and Supatone. I also like the cover art. It reminds me of those sexy album covers the Ohio Players did back in the 70s. They even have an album called 'Honey' with a honey clad girl on the cover. Perhaps tosca's influence for their cover art.With that said and done, what I don't like about this disc and the reason why I removed half a star to give this 3 1/2 stars, is every track, with the exception of three or four, uses the same line over and over and over again: "I want my honey ... I want my DA DA DA ..." I played this while a friend was over and after about the ninth track or so he looked at me and said: "Hasn't she been saying this for 30 minutes now?" After about the 60th time you hear this line it's enough to drive you crazy and on repeated listenings it begins to detract from the music. My solution to this is to program the tracks I liked and it helps to alleviate the irritation factor. Overall this is an excellent disc good for chilling out after a long evening, listening to on headphones or playing as background music at cocktail party. Buy this in addition to tosca's 'suzuki' and peace orchestra's debut (peter kruder's project) and you'll have enough chill out grooves turn any place into a den of cool."

Honey Dipped

"The personification and enjoyment of the many different splendors of Honey...yes HONEYS. The taste of them...all thirteen. Tosca tours the full spectrum of the femme fatale odyssey; touching upon every female form from the wild child to the Pre-Madonna, and even enlightening daddy's little girl. Each one of these ladies is dubbed out to perfection, in order to give that certain unforgettable edge...that edge which cuts like a knife turning color blue to blood red. The women all move in different forms with contrasting interest & views on life. Some like rock, techno, & reggae, while others prefer deep house, bossa nova to trip-hip for their honey appetite. But their sweet aroma & attitude all spells the same...a cut throat sex appeal and high life style that only can be translated through dub.
The first femme fatale (Honey-Markus Kienzl dub) has to be carefully watched, she is wild, for reasons unknown; a pure hell raiser. Yet her power & presence exudes control, control over all she surveys. And with her trip-hop rock style she balances parallel worlds (good and evil) on her finger tips and on the very tip of her tongue. This girl is the first to cross Tosca's enchanted yellow brick road path.
Girl seven...lives in heaven (Supatone 1 dub). She soars in the skies with a graceful motion of being forever high in a day, drifting upon herbal clouds. Her cool mellow tempo desires Tosca's full attention to her very detailed figure; curves upon her so shape, one might slide off the cuff when dealing with her. And Tosca being so enamored by this `gwane girl' that he visits her again on track 14 (Supatone 2 dub)...or maybe it's her twin sister that he visits. Yet whatever the case, she is worthy of a second notice.
From the classical intro to the curtain close of track 15, Tosca's choice of Honeys is breath taking...a true connoisseur of heavenly and hellish delights. Tosca has good taste, one after my own heart...and we must share notes someday.
But as for now this Honey dipped album is the `piece resistance' of God's greatest gift to earth...Honey. Enjoy.

"This CD is a surprise, a good surprise. I thought that maybe one or two tracks would be notable but every track is catchy. This is worth a listen; it is not repetative at all."
