Sad and Beautiful

"This appears to be the current incarnation of "Anthology 1968-1979," minus four tracks, the last two on each CD. TVZ could write some of the most beautiful, moving songs you'll ever hear, and sing them with an understated sincerity that no cover could match. Think of Hank Williams with a 1960s/1970s folk sensibility. This is missing some gems like Greensboro Woman, Rex's Blues and When She Don't Need Me, but is otherwise the best currently available overview of the first 10 years of his career. Buy this despite the misspelling of "Pancho." Surprisingly, Amazon UK (www.amazon.co.uk) appears to have a better selection of TVZ's works than Amazon U.S., including the incomparable "Live at the Old Quarter.""
It's never too late

"After viewing Margaret Brown's documentary on Townes Van Zandt,"Be Here to
Love Me" I was drawn to TVZ's songs. It came as no surprise that Lyle Lovett's tribute to Texas song writers "Step Inside this House" contains
3 songs by TVZ.Although I have been listening to this type of music for many years, I was new to this treasure. So it is indeed never too late to
experience this troubled wordsmith."
