"The first time I heard her song "I Do" I thought it was a nice beat. but then it started to grow on me and eventually i bought her album. Not only is she fine, but the girl can sing! Her song "I Do" needs to be number one and it's sad that it's taken this long for someone of her talent to be just noticed...Here's a breakdown of her songs:1. No Matta What (Party All Night) - Great R&B song for a night out at the club. Strong vocals by Toya. I can picture this being the second single.2. How Can I Be Down - Another tyte track with a good beat, describing the typical ...3. I Do!! - By far the best song the album. Definitely number one material. Great beat, easily can see the attitude witnessed in Toya's vocals. 4. The Truth - a track about how her man should tell the truth the next time around cuz this time it's too late. lilting music helps the ordinary lyrics.5. Think - This song didn't impress me too much. i'd say a filler. 6. Don't Make Me - i really like this song, especially the part where she says "don't make me accidentally key your jeep" that was funny. great song about warning her ... the revenge she might take on his cheating ways if he doesn't change.7. Moving On - beautiful ballad about dealing with the loss of somebody. lovely song.8. What Else Can I Do - a bittersweet r&b song about what else one can do after putting up with their mates lying, cheating ways but leave. 9. Untouchables feat. Penelope - Another filler. Pretty average track.10. Book of Love - a song about changing the rules of love. Nice lyrics.11. What's A Girl To Do - Great track, great beat. about a girl caught between a guy who treats her nice and a... isn't it obvious??12. I Messed Up - All i gotta say is this track is messed up.13. Bounce - Cute track about an annoying... "Bug a boo" sound familiar?14. I Do Pt. 2 - Really good remix, but I wish they would have put the video version of "I Do" on the cd also.Overall, one of the best R&B/Hip-Hop albums I've heard in a long time. What are you waiting for?? GO BUY IT RITE NOW AND SUPPORT THE TALENTED, BEAUTIFUL TOYA!"
Magnificent Midwest

"The Midwest is coming strong once again with sexy songstress Toya, with her debut self-titled album. Not only does she have a voice like a bell, she also has beauty, Aphrodite, the godess of love, would envy. The Midwest is showing great potential in the Hip Hop/R&B/Pop world. This "Rhythm Queen" is expected to drop another follow up to her Sonic Smash Hit "I Do" with a remix dubbed "I Do pt. 2". It's a mix with St. Lunatic, Murphy Lee. It changes the point of view from the player to the lady. We expect to hear a lot more of Toya's powerful voice before the year is over. Go out and get the album. In Stores 8/7/01. Toya also has a special feature on her album. "Toya's Dictionary" explains the new "Hip Pop" mainstream language used in her album and by people everyday."
Very good

"A very good debut of Toya. Her songs like "I do" or "No matta what" are very catchy and groovy. "The truth" features beats of LL Cool J's "Something like a phenomenon". This album has deserved much more attention because it's pretty good: good quality songs, beats and a good voice"
I Do!! Think This CD Is Awesome!!

"Everytime I went to Best Buy to look for a CD I looked at Toya but didn't think it would be a good buy. Boy, was I wrong! This is the best CD I currently have in my collection and it was worth every penny! Her style of music and midwest voice totally fit together perfectly in every song. I Do!! her first single is an awesome song, but dont think she is a one hit wonder. No Matta What (Party all Night) is begining to pull in listeners, and with her unique lyrics, and upbeat tempos, she could have numerous hits. Out of 15 songs 4 have featured artists and what a good choice. First of all, Penelope rocks in Untouchables! Loon is good in Book of Love, too. The other artists are T.I., a rapper I haven't heard about until now, in Fiasco, and Murphy Lee of the St. Lunatics, in I Do Part 2. My favortie songs are I Do!!, Don't Make Me, Moving On (the only ballad on the CD, but worth listening to), Untouchables, Book of Love, and I Do Part 2. Don't think that I don't like the other songs. They rock!! It's not another teen pop singer who doesn't write her songs. She helped write over half of the songs! In the inside cover there is also a dictionary with terms in her songs. Believe me, if that wasn't there I'd be puzzled beyond your imaginations. In I Do!! it says "He was a six foot stallion said a storybook thug" which means basicly a playa whose got the moves! How original is that?! She totally rocks! So if you want a kickin' CD thats going to make you listen to it over and over again, Toya is your #1 pick!"
It's growing on me.

"My friend had gotten this CD as a present recently. She didn't like it all that much so she gave it to me, thinking that I'd like it since I enjoy this kind of music. Well, at first I thought the music was weird. But after a second listen to the album, it started to grow on me. I had first heard about Toya on the radio with her debut single, "I Do!!". I didn't really think it was anything special. But the next few times I heard it, I actually started liking it. It's got a cool, catchy vibe and R&B feel to it that's great for dance clubs, and probably a good song for lots of interesting remixes. Other favorite tracks of mine on TOYA are: "No Matta What (Party All Night)", "How Can I Be Down", "The Truth", "Moving On", "What Else Can I Do", "Untouchables", "Book Of Love", and "Bounce". 15 tracks in all. This is a great debut album that really starts to grow on you quickly. It's different from most female singers' debuts. Toya kinda reminds me of Tamia, who also has that R&B/Pop-dance club feel to her music. If you are into artists like Jennifer Lopez, Tamia, Blu Cantrell, Christina Millian, etc., than I strongly recommend TOYA by Toya!"
