CD ReviewsTractor-'Before,During And After The Dandelion Years'(Ozit) Mike Reed | USA | 12/16/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Very nice compilation release of tunes from a long-running talented UK underground psychedelic band.'Before,During...' includes rare and unreleased material.According to my sources,Tractor originally existed from 1969-1991.Recently they've reunited for various gigs around their home turf.Tracks I was most impressed with were "Jester",the Floyd-ish "Circuits Drawn","Steve's Hungarian Novel",Watching White Stars",the freak flag anthem "About Yourself",and "It's Got To Be Right".The folkish "Who Am I" isn't bad either. There's a good four song segment that was recorded at one of the big outdoor festivals in which they played."Bring What You Expect To Find","Drilling Hundreds",the jamming "Little Girl In Yellow" and "Sarcastic Bastard" rounds out this truly fantastic introduction(to me,at least) of a great psych ensemble.Should appeal to fans of the Deviants,Hawkwind, and Monster Magnet.Highly recommended." Gorgeous as ever Kevin D. Rathert | Carbondale, IL | 01/06/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "As with anything released by Jim Milne and Steve Clayton, whether under their original moniker, The Way We Live, or in their more recent incarnation as Tractor, this compilation piece is loaded with wonderful guitar work and vocals from Jim Milne and excellent percussion work from Steve Clayton. The only problem with Tractor/The Way We Live is that their works can sometimes be difficult to obtain. The quality of the material is never a question. Thus, my advice would be pick up a copy of this album as soon as possible, lest it go out of print. As with all the bands releases one is at once amazed at the quality of musicianship and songwriting. This one belongs in every cd collection. Get it while you still can."
