Product DescriptionOn July 7, 2007, the Dillard Family of Piedmont, OK, and some of their friends, under employment contracts with Western Enterprises, was presenting the Freedom Celebration Fireworks Display in Piedmont celebrating Independence Day in Piedmont. One of the rockets failed to launch properly resulting in a tragic accident causing severe and fatal burns to Shannon Dillard Wilson (died July 22nd) and Travis Dillard (died August 8th). Travis was as an accomplished songwriter and musician working hard to build his music performance career at the time of his untimely death. In memory of both Shannon and Travis, the family chose to launch The Dillard Project to produce and release the unpublished music of Travis Dillard in the upcoming CD titled Out of the Ashes. The sales proceeds from this CD will go to the Paul Silverstein Burn Center at Integris Health Center, 3300 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK, 73112-4418, 405.949.3345, as well as other non-profit organizations involved in service and ministry. The family wants to honor the work done by the physicians and medical staff in treating Shannon and Travis in their hour of need and help future burn victims receive the same level of care and love shown to Shannon and Travis. The drive to publish the music CD was championed by the parents, E. Jay and Louann Dillard, brother Colin Dillard, producers and musicians Steve and Stephanie Short, and numerous family members and friends. (E. Jay Dillard himself was killed in a traffic accident in northwest Oklahoma City the following October on his son Colin's 21st birthday).
