Somebody's been listening to Isis...

"...and that's a good thing. Trenches doesn't sound just like Isis, but the influence is pretty prevalent. "The Tide..." is not only a powerful debut, but a great display of tonal texturing, driving riffs, and the sick vocals you'd expect from Jimmy Ryan. (I love Haste the Day but I never thought his voice fit with their style of music...better fit here.) Cool op art cover concept too. Kudos to Solid State as of late, by the way, as they've been putting out some brutal records and not just pop hardcore. RIYL Mastodon, Isis, Tomahawk, December."
