"Tribal Disco Noise is a very original and eclectic band combining several different genres of music within their sound. They have been around for several years, off and on as each of the members has side projects with other bands helping to finetune their musicianship. Over the years their music has defined and matured into something really special.Tribal Disco Noise's music combines metal, funk, pop, alternative and other genre's into a melting-pot of incredible sound. The song structures are amazing, switching from one tempo to another seamlessly, and all of the instruments are incredibly tight. The guitars and bass are fairly straight-forward, yet there is enough experimentation to keep it fresh, while the drums are very steady and appropriate. It is the keyboards that really add that special ingredient and raises the level of their music.The vocals by Andy Slipka are just amazing. Beautiful and dynamic with a lot of intensity and emotion displayed throughout the melodic, funk and metal parts. Andy also has a distinct sounding voice and singing style that flows well with the already original Tribal Disco Noise sound. The lyrics are thoughtful and engrossing and really display the talent that is there. Nothing negative about the vocal department in the least.All in all just an incredible cd. "Flip Out" starts out with some freaky sounds and then Andy displays his many different singing styles on this song. "Hold Your Own" has more of a nu-metal sound with some techno addded and some darker, yet melodic vocals. "Stage Crash" is a beautiful melodic song intertwined with some funk and where Andy really explores his vocal range. "Below Zero" is another song that has a techno edge and starts out on the heavy side and switches to some funk like choruses, interrupted by a beautiful melodic interlude and ends on a heavy note. "Catch It" is kind of on the heavy side with Andy singing in a type of raplike style accompanied by catchy choruses. "Lack of Knowledge" is just a beautiful melodic song with memorable keyboard interludes. All in all, a great cd.Tribal Disco Noise is an incredible band with unlimited potential and talent. Unfortunately, they have either broken up or taken a breather for an unknown amount of time. While "Orange Sunshine" is a good cd, it is kind of old and does not display the level that TDN is or was at during the present time. If you can, check out their latest cd, the "Respect" e.p., and hopefully TDN will get back together. In the meantime, enjoy what they have out there now and check out some other very eclectic and original bands: Salmon, Videodrone, Incubus, Nuclear Rabbit, and Hoobustank."
