Good Medicine

"This is a great record. The songwriting is a cut above most you'll hear today. Rich in piano chordings, it can be compared to 70's Carole King, Laura Nyro, and Bacharach. It's subtle stuff though, but like her old band, Madder Rose, it gets better with each listen. The playing and instrumentation is great, lots of nice touches with horn, strings, organs, slide gtr, & cello. Co-produced by Mary and old Madder Rose partner Billy Cote, one of the best of the year so far."
More beautiful music from mary lorson

"mary lorson still has one of the most beautiful voices in music, and here, for the second time, she has an entire album on which to show it off.this album has a somewhat different texture than the first saint low album. the arrangements are a bit jazzier, a bit lighter than the debut. this isn't a radical departure, but it's an interesting twist.fans of madder rose or the first saint low album will definitely want to pick this up...as will fans of female vocals and interesting, original indie music."
