Album DescriptionThe Trio Apoplectic album, recorded in Melbourne during their July 2006 tour, focuses primarily on original compositions, as well as pieces by Thelonious Monk and Mal Waldron which the group regularly performs. The group has performed a variety of music including improvised performances and well-worn Jazz standards, and the album is a selection of music which best represents the group's style. References to Australia's favorite sax trios such as those of Bernie McGann or Andrew Robson may be found, and more than just a little of the intent and ambience of the '70's NY loft scene that included Sam Rivers and Anthony Braxton.
