"Rarely does Orff's complete Trionfi accompany the better known Carmina Burana (the first work of the triptych), and the opportunity to accquire the complete series should not be missed. The CD booklet is likewise complete, with full song texts and over 6 pages of discussion of Orff's career; 3 pages are devoted to explanation of the Trionfi (all text appears in Czech, English, German, and French - the theme is "thorough"). The recordings date from 1961-69, but the AAD transfer is clean, sharp, and dynamic - Prague was a former Soviet CD publishing center, and this is probably the cause for such a decent recording (although not quite full digital sound should be expected). The Czech artists provide a convincing and enjoyable studio performance - these are not live concert recordings. If I had one bad thing to say about this issue, it would be that the second work, Catulli Carmina, begins on the first CD, and continues on the second. Without a multi CD changer it is not possible to get an uniterrupted experience. Still, I would highly rate this CD set for Orff fans."
