"I saw Truckstop Honeymoon at a festival and had to get their CD they are from New Orleans (until Katrina forced a relocation) the music is Bluegrass, Hillbilly, Country with a touch of Frank Zappa ! a talented duo Mike West (guitar, banjo) & Kate Euliss (upright bass) write most of their material starting off with
"Walk of Shame" (girl going home at daylight after a night she'd rather forget).
"Weeki Wachee Mermaid" Kate writes about how her Florida home town had mermaids and she wanted to be one when she grew up.
"Blue Collar Blues" a rocking song about a white collar worker.
"Capital Hill" a fantastic country song with a lament about the sort of bland country music heard on the radio.
"Mama's Moving Back" (to the neighborhood) ..... a great song
"Rocking Chair" a beautiful mature age love song
"Bad News" (I've been expelled from vacation bible school) .... funny song ..... and I'm a christian but realise the writers motives for attending the camp may have been different to mine ;-)
"Down wind from the Refinery" ..... a poor suburb in New Orleans.
"Betray My Trust" ...... strange lyrics ... must be a hillbilly love song !!!
Hope this quick review helps I was here looking to see if they have other CD's ......... Pity you can't hear samples ....... c'mon amazon."
