"The most famouse singer in Japanese folk genre will be Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi absolutely. But when you listen to recent his songs, you may feel what a hasky voice he is and may not like very much. However I declare he is one of the respectable folk singer in Japan.
His debut was more than twenty years ago. At that time, his voice was very beautiful and high tone voice. But he disliked hisself voice very much, and had the voice complex. For that, in the middle of his singer life, he dared to drink very hard every day, and he broke his throat intentionally. And he have had now hasky voice. His changing voice as time pass express his life history as a singer.
Though I am his fan, I like both his style, hasky voice of latter period and high tone voice of first period. The common thing of both periods is his high level guitar playing technique. In first period, he sang with folk guitars by using finger picking style mainly three finger picking way. The combination of high tone voice and sensitive finger picking was very moved. and recently he play with folk guitars by using stroke playing style. The style mach very much with his hasky voice. In addition to that, he use blues harmonica in the playing. The harmonica is very exciting and melodias though I can not express very well.
By the way, this album is cd remaked the songs that hit at his first period singer life as a folk singer. That is to say, you can enjoy both wonderful things, charm of first period and latter. But off course there will be people who dislike his hasky voice. At the case, I reccomend his first period albums. If you listen to them, you may know as if the different singer sing. His singer style was very different so that you may feel such.
But I am afraid that I can not look at his first period albums in the amazon site. But I think that you have the value of both period albums.
Anyway, you can feel the world that never have felt till now, even if it is good or not.
Thank you for reading my poor English."
