"As a young man, I spent a considerable amount of time listening to music. As I grew older however, I found it increasingly difficult to find albums that could stand up to the pure genius and brilliant, inspired poignancy of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's album or the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. Where had the energy and inspiration that brought us The Who's Tommy gone? The warmth and sentimentality of Stockhausen's Telemusik? The biting social satire of Huey Lewis? I asked myself, "Greg, is the heart of rock'n'roll still beatin?"I admit that for some time I turned away from rock music and, during those godless years from 1987 to 1999, I found sonic solace in the jazz experimentations of Charles Mingus and in the lilting sublimity of early 20th century, Malayasian flute recordings. That was until this album fell into my possession.The summation of all my experiences as a "listener-of-music" would not equal the great emotional upheaval that accompanied Apocalypse Dudes first trip around my turntable. Within those grooves, brothers and sisters, I rediscovered rock'n'roll.I promptly quit my job at Jack-in-the-Box and, with my limited savings, booked a flight to Oslo, Norway where I have since embraced the life of an aesthetic in worshipful devotion to Turbonegro.Are YOU ready for the darkness?"

"If you even remotely like rock n'roll, glam metal, or punk rock, then you owe it to yourself to listen to Turbonegro's Apocalypse Dudes. This band was really popular in Europe, but unfortunately never caught on in the states. Well, Epitaph is doing this amazing band justice by re-releasing their two late 90's albums, A** Cobra and Apocalypse Dudes. If you are new to Turbonegro, I'd definitely reccomend picking up Apocalypse Dudes first, a much more "listener friendly" album than Cobra is. Apocalypse Dudes was first released in 1998, and they had a new member join the group, one who added insane glam metal solos to the mix to make Apocalypse Dudes one of the greatest albums ever made.Even from the first track, the Age of Pamparius, you'll get an idea of how hard rocking this band is. The riffs and solos are amazing, and you'll feel like starting a moshpit while listening! Get It On is probably the catchiest song, not the best, but still pretty good. Prince of the Rodeo is insane, and is probably one of the best songs. You may notice it, because it was used during an episode of MTV's Jackass. Just about every song is awesome, and you have to listen to this album if you want to hear rock music."
