"I like this EP a lot. The songs are short, each one playing out a simple melody or idea before moving on to the next one, but the record flows together nicely. The music is both playful and trippy, perfect for background music at your next Tupperware party."

"This album is a smash. If you like Stereolab, I can't see you wanting to stop listening to this one. Not a thing to complain about here."

"As far as post-rock goes, this EP by Turn On might be the most overlooked excursion in the entire genre. The use of feedback, tape loops and sound effects as counter-melody and percussion had only been hinted at during the extended parts of Stereolab's mid-'90s albums, and the link tracks of the High Llamas' HAWAII and COLD & BOUNCY albums. So when Tim Gane and Andy Ramsey of Stereolab teamed up with High Llamas leader Sean O'Hagan for this detatched, near-anonymous record, the notion of it being a pet project was transparent and inspiring. There is a tonal freedom that makes Turn On strangly pastoral and totally urban at the same time. These guys were able to combine the far-out electronica of '80s Acid House with gentler tones inherent to '50s easy listening, '60s minimalism and '70s ambient music. The combination is nothing short of extraordinary."
