Search - Grainger, Grieg, Layton :: At Twilight

Grainger's choral arrangements on this disc might disappoint listeners who generally like his music. They show little of the originality heard in most of his works, being mostly just straightforward settings of folk tunes arranged for maximum intelligibility of the texts but without his characteristic touches. Grieg's works are more representative of his best work, and the small chorus sings exceptionally well. Still, definitely an item for specialists. --Leslie Gerber
