Awesome album!!!

"Great vocals, powerful guitar riffs with a touch of keyboards and occasional female vocals. The best song is The Usurper's Throne. The other songs are great too. This album has a different sound and is more sophisticated than Where the Light Touches None. Although Where the Light Touches None is a superb album as well.
A worthy additon to anyone's metal collection!!!!"

"If "Where Light Touches None" is Twin Obscenity's "Thriller", then "For Blood, Honor, and Soil" is their "Off the Wall". If you think Emperor's "In the Nightside Eclipse" and "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" are the greatest Black metal albums ever you will probably agree with me.

Every song on it is incredible, and a couple are Transcendant.

What strikes me is that the songs are fairly varied despite their dedication to speed on most of the album. The riffs are very effective, and the synths add

On a personal note, in preparation for becoming a US Marine, I listened to this album constantly when I ran. When I started I could barely run a mile, now I can run 3 in 20 minutes. The song "For Blood, Honor, and Soil" is the greatest for running."

"The music is Black Metal, the lyrics are epic medieval stories, including the battle of Hastings, written in superb poetical style. The outstanding musicians' experience make you clearly notice the WORK in this album. Keyboards never take over the music: the guitars are the centerpieces. 'Tis rapid, and impressive."
