The future of heavy metal

"How far to Asgaard is the debut album of the Faroese band Tyr. The first song, Hail to the Hammer, sets the mood perfectly. You are transferred back to the age of the Vikings, the age of Thor god of thunder. The album peaks with the bands version of the traditional song Ormurin Langi which has been sung in the Faroe Islands for centuries. The title track How far to Asgaard is an epic song about the Vikings journey to America (or Vineland as they called it). The album contains other great tracks such as The Rune, Sand in the Wind and The God of War.How far to Asgaard is a powerful album and should be at home in any heavy metal collection. Who would have thought that the heirs to the crown of Black Sabbath would come from a tiny island nation in the North Atlantic?"

"Though I have only had the opertunity to hear 4 of the songs, three of which are videos on their site (http://www.tyr.net) they are the BEST Viking Metal Band in exsistance. Their style is great, their music is moving, even in their native language.
If you are into traditional as well as modern Viking Metal, or are a Heathen religiously, this band MUST grace your collection!
Hail to Tyr!"
