"I have followed Tyrese since the bus ride with the coke song. I hear him praising his girl/woman and as a woman, I think it is sexy. On this cd, he wants one girl, two whips and so on. Then on the second cd he wants her to get down and suck his #&@* like she created it, she is a hoe, and Scrappy even refers to hitting a woman with the chrome and so on and so on. I am confused. I love rap and think he is a great rapper as well, but when are WE going to stop degrading ourselves and our own people. I have become so tired of it. Now, I am glad I purchased the cd, then I am upset of the disrespect. Can a rapper rap without degrading women and have respect for the human that is responsible for placing them in existance?Listen to the original masters of rap, it wasn't none of this non sense being displayed, yet their music sold and now needs to be modeled after. Tyrese, I love ya and ya music, but I am not down with the degrading of the women."
Good stuff

"I really liked disc one. It's worth the price alone and I wish he had more than 10 tracks on it. I agree his rapping isn't great, but it's not horrible either. Disk 1 alone is one of the best R&B on a single album i've heard in a while. Keep it up Tyrese. Black Ty can make a few cameos in the future but no full albums!"

"when i heard "how you gonna act like that" and "signs of love making" i really thought tyrese was a great singer and really knew how to put it down in the R&B level, also i had never heard of him before these songs besides "baby boy" which was alright. but this album is terrible. the first CD may be alright, songs such as "one" and "lights on" are really the only decent songs, if you could even use the word decent. he says 'shawty' way too much, and his 2nd disk which is all rap, is absolutely terrible, he shouldn't rap at all. if you liked "pullin me back" by chingy and have heard "one" already, don't think that this CD will make you like tyrese more, because it's a terrible CD."
Gotta give him credit!

"I must say that I loooooove Tyrese! That is my baby!! disc one of Alter ego is just what we have been missing.... great R&B music from someone who really CAN sing. It has been long overdue. The 13 songs on this disc let's you know that Tyrese still has what it takes to make you wanna do the......to HIM! But anyway, the songs are great slow jams for our times and more importantly, he sounds better than ever! My favorite song is One and Turn you out! Just the lyrics alone make me want to go find that man!!! lol. Black Ty, his alter ego, must be suppressed in the future. I think that he does have some skills, all it takes is a little more practice, on pad. But I didn't like all the cussin and stuff from him, it just is like him. But this is why he calls it Alter Ego. He says there are two sides to him. Frankly, I like the soft thug side, baby. As far as creative efforts, Tyrese, did his thing. I give him much credit because it takes alot to share your creativity with the masses and hoping that they will understand you more than reject you. So as far as Black Ty is concerned, nice try. Close but no cigars...almost...maybe.... you get the picture. If you love R&B with Tyrese's voice attached to it, this is a great cd for you. He is giving us the rap cd, but you will pay for the R&B and it is definitely worth it!"
