Synopsis

Album Description
Japanese only SHM pressing. The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.

Live album with some of UK's best songs. My favorites are the hypnotic "Rendezvous 6:02," "Alaska," and "Time to Kill."

Rating on remastering aspect of 30th anniversary reissue
herb | somewhere hopefully | 09/02/2009

"I reviewEd the "Danger Money" remaster and felt as though the remastering on that was a little more remarkable than on this release. As with "Danger Money" I a/b'Dthe EG edition with this new remaster using good headphones straight into the cd player. It's a good remaster but by no means a "massive or stunning" upgrade. It clearly HAS been remastered as there is much more depth in the low frequency range. If already own the ED edition you love this particular album I would say buy it.

These remasters are weak on liner notes and for "30th anniversary editions" fall short of what could have been in terms of extra/bonus content. I have yet to find the first album remastered locally but as soon as I do will share my opinions. Remastering is very subjective and not all of us hear the same thing. If you believe in the band and like the best quality possible it would be worth the purchase. Whenever I listen to this particular album I have issues regarding the performance, as there appears to be allot of "extra" back up vocals that I cannot reconcille as being possible "live". If anyone has insight into this I would love to know."

"Band just doesn't miss a beat.

Especially with Terry Bozzio keeping time.

Not empty at all even without Holdsworth."
