CD ReviewsUltra-V: Cola, Vodka, & Cranberry Juice B. Alan Orange | Long Beach, Ca | 04/04/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "I've heard some harsh words concerning this project. Rock Star posturing, and songs about money and alcohol are played out & tired, they said. Not true. This is one of the funnest albums I've heard in a long time. The first two tracks are funked up Chili Pepper off-shoots with a little bit of Hip-hop thrown in for good measure. Just what one needs to get the party started right. It wasn't until the third song that I recognized singer Chris "Ruth Ruth" Kennedy's voice. And it was this third song that truely nailed it home for me. If you're headed into a bar by yourself, this song will give you the confidence you need to strutt through the front door and snag any girl from the bar. Just make sure you knock a few back before cranking up the stereo. This new disc from the Ruth Ruth players finds bits & pieces of untried sound to tie into their agenda, making for a fresh treat. Bring on the Fuego is a party album at heart, and it's soul never lifts from this goal. It's not for the Punk Rockers, or the hip-hoppers, or anyone else who has thrown themselves into a corner wearing only that shirt. This is an album for those who want to have FUN. Period."
