"I'm a huge underworld fan but a bigger fan of trance/techno. This ep is incredible and something that wouldn't happen today. underworld is bigger on lyrics these days as emerson has slowly started to move away from the band, and karl has gotten back into his swing as front man. This ep shows a different and more timid underworld that recorded performances more than produced tracks. The mixes/tracks are dark and meander almost like jazz pieces. You can also hear element from other tracks that were born in this mix and out of this mix. Most music like this these days is do with kitch and with some sort of purpose or idea in mind, whereas this record has no obvious purpose and is pure raw energy. There's nothing pop about it. This may scare some folks who have understood elecro music as Moby or Madonna or Dirty Vegas or U2. I hope it does, really, because what is borne here is something that you rarely see/hear and something that rarely is repeated. Enjoy it for yourselves."
Get it if you can!

"I got my copy on eBay... I never see it here on Amazon. This disc will take you on an amazing journey. I love to put it on for long night drives where I kinda want to trance out but still be energized by a kick'en beat.
If you like Underworld'ss earlier music, then you HAVE to have this in your collection...find it!"
Great alternative takes

"This is a very good package with 6 tracks contained within this release. Bringing together the original 'Dark and Long' single along with its much vaunted 'Dark Train' remix, which is one my all time favourite tracks.'Spoon Deep' is a turbo charged remix of the 'Spoonman' track that appeared on 'Dubnobasswithmyheadman' and in my opinion should have been on the album instead, but it is about 18 minutes long though! The final track on this CD 'Burts' sounds nothing like Underworld and is all the better for it. It sounds like something from one of the Benelux countries due to the menacing bassline. This shows they have more sides to them."
So worth it

"If you can find it for a reasonable price, get it. I can't believe they put such amazin tracks on such an obscure CD, at least for someone on our side of the Atlantic. Dark Train is one of the best tracks they ever made, the perfect thing for driving a fast German car, not to mention dancing. I'm going to go out on a limb and call Thing In A Book one of the best electronic songs ever made, just do whatever you gotta do and go on the journey....
Tip - I found it on Germany's Amazon site for only 30 euros (including shipping), or about $38. It was my Christmas present to myself while still stuck in boring Wisconsin and I LOVE it."
