Pert' Near Awesome!

"This album is a diamond in the rough. This high-intensity, technically-gifted bluegrass band has not had much exposure beyond the Upper Midwest, but here these guys bring down the house every night they play. "Up and Down the River" gives you a taste of what Pert Near can do. Nate Sipe (on mandolin) and Ryan Young (fiddle) are absolute masters of their respective instruments. Young, incidentally, has played side gigs with Ryan Simonet (Trampled by Turtles) and was a guest artist on that band's last album (Trouble). A Fall '08 Trampled By Turtles/Pert Near Sandstone tour will hit the west coast. Do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for that. Until then, get some instant gratification with this disc!"
