The best piper in the world

"Fred Morrison is the best piper in the world, and this extraordinary album underlies his status.
Morrison is a consummate technician - up there with any of the hardcore competition pipers (he's won multiple gold medals including six Macallan trophies).
But unlike with some of the competition junkies, Morrison's aim seems to be to produce beautiful music, and he succeeds fully here. From the the achingly gorgeous first notes of 'Mistress of the House' to the magnificence of the 'Earl of Seaforth's Salute' the unifying feature of this album is music in its purest form: music so good it stops you in your tracks before tugging your emotions this way and that.
No serious piper can be without this album."

"Although I like traditional music, I don't really listen to pipe music as a rule. I got this CD for my birthday and what a discovery! I absolutely love this album. I would love to see this guy live."

"This is a wonderful recording by an extremely talented piper from the Scottish Isles. It is especially good for people who love Celtic music and particularly recommended for pipers. Fred Morrison plays Highland pipes , border pipes, Uilleann pipes, and low whistles on a variety of traditional tunes and tunes that he has composed himself. As a piper all I can say is it doesn't get any better than this."
