"Urbie Green is factually the greatest trombonist, and possibly the greatest musician & recording artist who ever lived. His infallible technique and divine melodic phrasing remain incomparable even today. During the 50s, 60s and 70s, Urbie recorded dozens of albums, each one defining absolute virtuosity. On this particular CD, recorded live on the 1995 Floating Jazz Festival (a tribute to Oscar Peterson) Urbie, now in his late 70's obviously displays his love for the songs that influenced him during his musical growth. Also, he humbly features on this performance two of today's most gifted young artists - Chris Potter on saxophone & his son Jesse Green on piano. This is a perfect addition to anyone's jazz collection and a "MUST-HAVE" for those who love Urbie, Jesse and/or Chris. Congratulations and sincere thanks to Urbie for over 60 years of great music and an extraordinary contribution to this world!"
