"ROCKERS IS A GOOD ADDITION TO YOUR HEEP COLLECTION

"There are a lot of Uriah Heep collections out there on the market, imports, live concerts, and hit packages. I rate this compilation three and a half stars. This is a good addition to Chronicles: Best of Uriah Heep. The sound is great- remastered by Steve Hoffman for DCC Classics label.
I would have given this collection four stars but downgraded this release due to its disorganization of the 15 tracks which represent three different lineups of Uriah Heep. The songs are
not placed chronologically from the 73 to 83 album releases covered on the CD.
The corp lineup is featured on tracks 11 - 13, Something Or Nothing, Suicidal Man, Seven Stars. The vocalist is David Byron
and considered by many to be the voice incarnate for Uriah Heep. These are great songs and have appeared on import best of collections.
Songs 9 and 15 are from the lineup with singer John Lawton formerly of the German rock group Lucifer's Friend. I'm Alive
and Free N' Easy- both rock and stand out as great songs. I'm
Alive features great guitar work by Mick Box. Free N' Easy seems like the follow up tune to Easy Livin', a Heep favorite.
The first half of the CD, songs 1 - 8, plus songs 10 & 14, feature singer Peter Goalby and John Sinclair on keyboards.
Ken Hensley the original keyboard player had left the band with John Lawton. This material was new to me, and the songs reminded me of a heavier Foreigner. Peter Goalby sounds a little like Lou Gramm. Standout tracks from this lineup are-
The Other Side Of Midnight, Red Lights, Too Scared To Run, Sell Your Soul, Think It Over, and That's The Way It Is.
The center of this collection is the guitar work of Mick Box and the drumming of Lee Kerslake that held these lineups together. The guitar playing is great throughout these songs-
Mick Box is very underated. This CD has almost 57 minutes of music on it and remastered at that. Critics may not like it but The Heep plays on.

"AN AMAZING COMPILATION"

"I actually found this CD in a used CD bin and got it for a ridiculously low price. I was surprised of just how good this CD really is. It has 15 tracks that ROCK! It's actually a compilation of just their Hard Rock songs. It has a lot of material from the eighties but also some 70's stuff. It was originally released in '88. I can't believe that I got one of my favorite CD's for less than 10 Dollars. Get a copy while you can!"
