"Vilayat Khan is a legendary musician and has made history by playing difficult ragas with beauty and immense expression. Jaijaiwanti is a very complex raga. Alot of other ragas are standing very close to it.Des, Ghara, Chaya Nat, Gaud Sarang, Nat, Sorath and Gaur are very close to Jaijaiwanti and care has to be taken when playing it. Vilayat's Alap is very delicate and very emotional with alot of singing techniques embedded inside. His handling of the raga is superb because he explores every aspect and section in vivid detail. He takes time in displaying each and every part of the raga beautifully and delicately. His drut gat has the essence of a Bandish. Probably it was derived from a original Jaijaiwanti Bandish. Conclusively, I would to say that this is a great CD. Vilayat Khan at his best!!"
