"I have nearly all avaiable Symphonies on cd from the 18th century. Out of 7 avaiable cds with Symphonies by Johann
Baptist Vanhal 1739-1813 is this the best! Here are some very
melodic movements with cantable crescendi. The orchestra in the A-major Symphonie realy sings . The performance and the recording is here a little better than on the Naxos cds and the Chandos cd .On this cd is Vanhal`s second g-minor symphonie as it is on the chandos cd , but here are the other 2 Symphonies very good as well.-After this i recommend the cd with Vanhal
Symphonies conducted by Helmrath , witch contains Vanhal`s first g-minor Symphonie and the first Naxos CD."
