"Vanhal was a contemporary of Mozart and Haydn. He was close to each of these composers and after listening to his symphonies, it's no wonder why. Vanhal is the genius equivalent of Mozart & Haydn and is completely underrated. He wrote very dashing energetic melodies and rhythms to his sym.s. They are truly great works."

"Vanhal's symphonies are engrossing and beautiful. That he is an undiscovered country, makes them all the more surprising and lovely."
