Synopsis

Amazon.com
Jennifer Lopez finds herself in an unlikely love triangle as San Francisco's most sought-after wedding planner. The romantic comedy does not include any of Lopez's music on the soundtrack, but it does feature a collection of pop-lite tracks that her fans may find equally thrilling. Composer Mervyn Warren's score is featured at the album's end, but what should keep Lopez fans interested are the contributions of 20-year-old Jessica Riddle and Jessica Sheely, who each take a page from the modern romantic pop-song playbook. Lisa Stansfield handles the Goffin-King composition "Somewhere My Baby Waits for Me." Sister Hazel chime in with their harmonious rock on "We'll Find It," which is followed up by Australia's Mishelle Bradford-Jones's self-penned "Life Is What You Make It," an empowerment anthem worthy of Dawson's Creek. Dan Finnerty remakes the 1960s hit "A Groovy Kind of Love." And for pure nostalgia, both John Denver and Olivia Newton-John are featured with hits that graced AM radio 25 years ago. --Rob O'Connor

The Wedding Planner Soundtrack

"After seeing Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey in THE WEDDING PLANNER, I wanted to get the soundtrack. (The movie is great!) My first thought on this soundtrack is that it could have been better... But it is cute and whimsical with the some new and old remakes mixed in. There are three songs (Track #2, 6, 7) that are featured that are not in the movie and two songs (Track #8, 13) that has different versions than from the movie. And, there are no Jennifer Lopez songs on this CD. (Which is noted on the back of the CD to let the audience know. Maybe J.Lo didn't want to deter her audience from her newly released CD.) But over all, the cute popsy songs do this movie justice. It's good Saturday morning listening music and it's upbeat and happy enough. There are quite a few new and up and coming female singers like Jessical Riddle and Jessica Sheely that contribute to this soundtrack- which I thought was pretty good. I also liked Lisa Stanfield's version of "Someday My Baby Waits For me" and Dan Finnerty's "A Groovy Kind of Love". The movie's theme music composed by Mervyn Warren is sweet and romantic and is featured at the end of the CD. (Worth listening to.) Some of the songs on this CD reminded a bit of the Dawson's Creek soundtrack but overall a great CD to listen to."
Sweet!

"I love this CD! I love this movie! You may call me old-fashioned, but this is the kind of music I listen to. I liked JLo's "My Love Don't Cost A Thing," although it was so different from the other songs. I've always loved Jennifer Lopez in movies and Matthew McConaughy was great! These are the songs (and the movie) that won't get old or boring quickly!"
